"Gift shop felt overpriced for the quality"
Visited Edinburgh Zoo and had a good day overall, but the gift shop was a bit of a disappointment. The prices seemed really high, even for basic things like magnets, small toys, and little souvenirs.

The kids wanted a couple of items, but it added up so quickly, and I wasn’t convinced the quality matched the price. I know zoo gift shops are usually expensive, but this felt like poor value. We ended up buying one tiny thing and still walked away feeling a bit ripped off.

"The zoo itself was okay and…"
The zoo itself was okay and we still had a decent wander around, but the toilets were grim when we visited. One had no loo roll, the floors were wet, and there were queues too. For what you pay to get in, I expected the basic facilities to be much better. It felt like an unnecessary hassle in the middle of the day.

"Animals Seemed Really Well Cared For"
I had a nice visit overall. The enclosures looked clean, and the keepers genuinely seemed to care about the animals. A few of the spaces felt a little small to me, but the animals looked relaxed and well looked after. A friend had recommended checking it out, and I’m glad I did.

"Pretty clean All Around"
The grounds were really clean when I was there. bins were emptied and I didn’t notice any mess anywhere, which was nice to see

"Prices Made Me Gasp a Little"
Okay, the drinks and snacks were definitely more expensive than outside, and yes, I know that’s kind of expected, but I still had a tiny heart attack looking at the prices. The kids meals were actually decent value though, so that helped balance it out. Overall, not cheap, not amazing, but not a total disaster either.

"we bought our tickets online thinking..."
we bought our tickets online thinking it would make getting in easy, but the queue was a mess. it moved really slowly, and nobody seemed totally sure which line they were supposed to be in.

once we finally got inside, things were fine, but the whole start of the day was frustrating and put us in a bad mood. they really need clearer signs and more staff managing the entry lines.

The animal talks started late, it was hard to hear most of what was being said. The demonstrations also felt rushed, like we were just being moved along without much attention. The kids still enjoyed seeing the animals, but I left feeling a bit ignored and expected a better experience overall.

"A Little Day Full of Wonder"
There were so many animals to see, and the kids loved every single bit of it. It was one of those simple outings that ends up feeling really special, just watching them get excited and curious about everything. Definitely a day we’ll remember.

"We took our two kids to Edinburgh…"
We took our two kids to Edinburgh Zoo the other weekend, mostly because we had a free Saturday and the weather looked decent for once. They absolutely loved it. It was really easy to get around, which made a big difference because one of mine always decides their legs have stopped working halfway through any day out. There were plenty of toilets and lots of places to sit when they needed a break, so it never felt stressful. The staff we spoke to were friendly too. Overall it felt really family friendly, and we didn’t feel rushed at all. Just a really nice, relaxed day.

"Super convenient drop-off"
The bus dropped us off pretty much right near the entrance, which made things really easy. I think it was about as convenient as you could hope for.

"Totally Worth It"
Okay, I’m kind of shocked at how fast this membership paid for itself. After just a few visits, I was already feeling like I’d cracked some secret savings code. Happy with it, maybe a little too excited about a membership, but here we are

"Good day out with plenty for the kids"
We had a really good day at Edinburgh Zoo, to be honest mostly because the kids loved the play areas. They spent ages climbing about and running around, which was great because it broke up all the walking. A few bits did look a bit worn, and it did get busy, but it was still such a handy way to keep them entertained. They had loads of fun, so that’s the main thing.

"My legs may never forgive me, but totally worth it"
Absolutely 5 stars from us. I’m not even being dramatic when I say some of those hills had me questioning every life choice I’ve ever made. My legs were screaming by the end, so definitely wear decent shoes. A few of the paths are steep, but there are benches and loads of spots to stop and recover like you’ve just climbed a mountain. We just took it slow and it was completely fine. the animals and the views made all the walking 100% worth it.

"Had such a nice day at Edinburgh…"
Had such a nice day at Edinburgh Zoo. The staff were really helpful and you could tell they knew so much about the animals. We asked a bunch of random questions and they answered everything in such a friendly way never felt like they were rushing us. It made the whole visit more fun for the kids too. You can tell they genuinely care about what they do. Would definitely go back.

"Nice visit, friendly staff"
We had a nice visit overall. Staff were really friendly and helped us find penguin area when we got a bit turned around. The queues were little slow, which was a bit annoying, but it didn’t ruin the day. Would still say it was a good experience

"fun zoo trip, but parking was a hassle"
the zoo itself was great and we had a nice time walking around. the only annoying part was the parking. we did find a spot, but the lot already felt full even though it wasn’t that late. the parking cost also adds up on top of the tickets, so it’s worth planning for. not a dealbreaker, just something to keep in mind

"Nice food, I think we went in the afternoon?"
We stopped in for coffee and something to eat, though I can’t remember if it was late morning or already after lunch. Either way, the food was really nice and the coffee came out hot, which I always appreciate. The kids had sandwiches and actually liked them too, so no complaints from us...
